As companies like Google prepare to welcome at least some of their workforce back to the office, Logitech is releasing a whiteboard camera that employees can use to collaborate with their external colleagues. The company’s new gadget, named Scribe, uses AI-enhanced software to make presenters transparent so that the presentation viewer can more easily see the whiteboard. It can also automatically detect post-it notes and tweak the color highlighting.

Scribe is partnering with Zoom Rooms on launch, with support for Teams Rooms coming later this year. It can also be used as a simple web camera with “virtually” any video conferencing app, although most of the time using it this way would be a waste.
The $ 1,200 price tag for Scribe puts it in the ballpark of other high-end whiteboard cameras like the Huddly Canvas. Each Scribe unit comes with a number of mounting components that you can use to mount it to a wall, as well as all the cables you need to get started. Scribe is available in select markets today.
