There are many Chase credit cards that are used to collect Ultimate Rewards points. These points are usually best used for travel opportunities. However, you can also redeem them on Amazon. While we usually recommend saving them for travel, Amazon currently has an offer that will not only allow you to use your Chase Points but also save on your next Amazon purchase.

Since not all Chase cards are for this offer, we’ve broken it down step-by-step to see if you’re eligible for the discount and, if so, to show you how to apply it to your Amazon order.
To get started, you’ll need a Chase credit card that can be used to collect Ultimate Rewards points. These include popular credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Chase Freedom Unlimited. Unfortunately, other Chase credit cards that earn points and miles tied to a specific airline or hotel are not eligible for this offer.

If you have a Chase card that is used to collect Ultimate Rewards points, you will need to link it to your Amazon account and sign up for the “Shop with Points” payment option. You can click this link to add your card to “Shop with Points” or find it under the “Your Account” tab on the Amazon website.

Once your Chase card is linked, click here to activate the $ 10 off $ 30 offer. However, keep in mind that this is a targeted action so you may see a message stating that you are not authorized. If so, you may want to check back from time to time as Amazon sometimes targets people later. If you’ve just signed up for Shop with Points, you may have to wait 24 hours to activate the offer.
When you see the offer, you can register by clicking the “Activate Now” button. After registration, you can search Amazon for products that are sold and shipped by Amazon. Unfortunately, items sold by third parties are not eligible for this discount. Although Amazon gift cards are also excluded, you can buy many other retail gift cards like Best Buy and Whole Foods and get the discount.
After you’ve added $ 30 eligible products to your Amazon cart, you’ll need to take the next step to receive the discount on your order. During the checkout process, you will need to select your linked Chase card as your payment method and then use at least 1 point to pay for your purchase. Once you do, the discount will appear in your checkout total on the right side of the screen.

If you pay with Ultimate Rewards points on Amazon, 1 point equals 0.8 cents, which is not a good value. In fact, frequent flyer website The Points Guy rates Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents each when you use them for travel. However, you only need to use 1 point on Amazon to receive this discount and the rest of your total amount can then be paid for using your Chase credit card.
Be careful though, as Amazon often automatically applies the total score to your order. You should therefore change it manually to only 1 point. To do this, enter $ 0.01 in the points area, which will only apply 1 point to your payment. Of course, you can apply any number of points, but you will get more value for your points if you use them to travel along the line.
