Paramount+ will cost $5 per month with ads, or $10 without

On March 4th, ViacomCBS will convert CBS All Access to Paramount +. But first, it will give investors all the details of the new streaming plans, similar to the events we saw before Disney, HBO and Comcast launched their respective Internet TV efforts.

Leading up to the event, the company’s fourth quarter results for CBS All Access and Showtime Streaming recorded the best quarter for enrollment ever. Worldwide streaming customers grew by 56 percent over the previous year to a total of 30 million, in the USA it was 19.2 million.

According to Bob Bakish, CEO of ViacomCBS, the “mountain of content” includes more than 30,000 episodes of TV shows, 2,500 films and 1,000 sporting events available via streaming. That’s before the 36 original series slated to release this year, including a new reality series every month, and the long-running Halo series that was geared towards Showtime. A full list of the original content announced today can be found here (PDF).

The company also announced pricing for the new service. A $ 5 ad-supported streaming tier will not be available when it launches in March as the only option is the $ 10 premium subscription, which includes more live sports, news, and live TV with no streaming ads . The cheaper option starts in June. ViacomCBS says CBS All Access will be renamed on March 4th in the US, Latin America and Canada, before Paramount + launches in the Nordic countries on March 25th and later this year in Australia.

Paramount plans to stream “selected” films within 30 to 45 days of their theatrical release. More new films are coming to Paramount + 90 days after their first release. This includes films like A Quiet Place Part II and Mission Impossible 7, which will premiere 45 days later.

Paramount + will also be home to a new Beavis & Butthead movie, a weekly series from Trevor Noah, host of the Daily Show, and the return of Inside Amy Schumer. The streamer will also be the first place viewers can watch Star Trek: Prodigy before the CG series airs on Nickelodeon, a new Rugrats series, and there will be a revival of Frasier in which Kelsey Grammer again will play the main role.
