YouTube TV subscribers now have a new platform available: PlayStation 5. The console has been tacitly added to Google’s support website for the service. This was first discovered by Android Police. The addition comes as Google and Roku are in the middle of a very public spit on YouTube TV.
Roku said Google was calling for preferential treatment of search results and trying to get the company to make changes to its hardware that would drive up the prices of its streaming devices. Google accused Roku of trying to “break the YouTube experience” in order to get “special treatment”. The dispute culminated in Roku, who pulled YouTube TV out of his store last week. Fortunately for subscribers, Google still supports dozens of other devices, including the latest generation of consoles. YouTube TV was already available for the Xbox Series X and is now also available on the PlayStation Store.
